Mallard Lodge has a playful streak running through its calm, refined interior, and it’s precisely what makes the home so memorable. The open-plan living area is warm and inviting, with soft textures and natural tones. Then you look up and spot our big wooden kayak suspended above the dining table, and suddenly… It’s an adventure.
Eating together works best at the dining table, with someone wandering out to check the water and decide whether a paddle or a soak in the hot tub is the better move. And if you’ve got kids in tow (or adults who refuse to grow up), we’ve snuck a Space Invaders game on the landing, which tends to get discovered early and re-visited often. Just don’t top our high score.

South Cerney is only a few minutes away and is one of the area’s most established villages. Think traditional stone cottages, small, friendly shops, lovely pubs and delightful cafés. Tree-lined lanes and village greens all lead directly towards scenic lakeside routes, so nature’s nearby even when you’re shopping.
Cirencester is about 10-15 minutes by car and offers boutique shopping, restaurants, markets, and a rich sense of history. Kemble Station is also close, with direct trains into London, making this spot practical for quick weekend visits as well as longer stays.
