You’re on the Cotswold Lakes, an active place by nature, easy to dip in and out of, whether that means a full circuit or simply floating about and watching the world go by.
As the day unfolds, Firefly makes room for different speeds. Some of the family venturing out into the wider Cotswolds, others lingering on the deck, maybe you’re looking for a quiet corner to work on that novel you’ve been meaning to write. There are a couple of desks perfectly placed for just that. On the understanding, of course, that any serious thinking is balanced with time spent in the hot tub too.
This is a house designed for bringing family together without forcing it. Generations under one roof, a ground-floor bedroom that makes life easier, space for the dogs (is it a family break without them?). Everyone free to do their own thing, knowing there’s always somewhere to come back to.
When evening arrives, fire up the BBQ, the wraparound deck fills up, and Firefly earns its name. The lake darkens, the last light sits on the water, and the day closes the way it should, all of you gathered together, glowing a little from time well spent.

From paddleboarding and kayaking to simply settling in with a drink by the water, there’s plenty to dip in and out of depending on how active you want your stay to be. Please be mindful when using communal areas, and leave them as you found them for others to enjoy.
Exploring nearby
Set within the beautiful Cotswold Lakes, you’re surrounded by over 180 lakes, woodland trails and quiet village lanes. The landscape feels open, green and peaceful in every direction. It’s the perfect space to be active and explore, ideal for cycling, paddle-boarding, or just walking and enjoying the abundant wildlife and fresh air.
South Cerney is only a few minutes away and is one of the area’s most established villages. Think traditional stone cottages, small, friendly shops, lovely pubs and delightful cafés. Tree-lined lanes and village greens all lead directly towards scenic lakeside routes, so nature’s nearby even when you’re shopping.
Cirencester is about 10-15 minutes by car and offers boutique shopping, restaurants, markets, and a rich sense of history. Kemble Station is also close, with direct trains into London, making this spot practical for quick weekend visits as well as longer stays.
